Configure the Steam update feature

  1. Log in to your control panel and navigate to System Settings > Steam Update Settings.
  2. Type your steam account and password and click save (not required unless you have access to limited content).
  3. Place hldsupdatetool.exe in your monitor folder. If you have more than one server you will have to place it in every monitor folder. You can download it from here:
http://storefront.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.exe Note: This is the installer. After running the installer the real hldsupdatetool.exe that you need is installed in C:/Program Files/Valve/HLServer. After installing simply copy hldsupdatetool.exe from the installation folder to the TCAdmin monitor folder.
  4. Navigate to System Settings > Supported Games.
  5. Click on a halflife or source based game.
  6. Under "HLDSUpdateTool Settings" type the steam game id. For a list of Steam games click here: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Game_Name_Abbreviations
  7. Select who will have access to the update.
  8. Click on Save.
  9. Now if you or your clients go to the game sever's page you will see the Steam update icon. Click on the icon and it will update the game server.
